The My Mia chair in grey fabric was created by designer No? Duchaufour-Lawrance exclusively for Habitat. Inspired by an Art Nouveau heritage, No? Duchaufour-Lawrance draws on the universal character of nature to impose meaningful forms. The association of these two elements results in the poetic image of a light leaf, suspended, and the solid branches of the tree that carries it. More than a traditional wooden chair, My Mia is a design object that converses with its environment. The airy structure of its base allows the eye to roam. No? Duchaufour-Lawrance also created the My Mia extendable table to accommodate this chair in the greatest harmony. Born in 1974 in the South of France, No? Duchaufour-Lawrance has established himself as a multidisciplinary designer. Having studied sculpture, he initially wanted to transcribe with his hands his relationship with nature. The evocation of emotion through the utility of shapes then became obvious. He often compares his approach to the “niwa”, the small garden at the heart of the traditional Japanese home.
